Most bikes need 4 pads, one pair for the front wheel and one for the back wheel, so the set covers more than one pad change. The pads are black and made of rubber and aluminum alloy. Each pad has two holes and three slots for ventilation and for draining water away, which helps the brakes keep performing in adverse weather. The curved, grooved surface increases friction when braking and helps prevent sand or stone damage to the wheel rims.
